Pedro Andrade

Pedro Andrade (born April 14, 1979)[1][2] is a Brazilian journalist-actor-model raised in Rio de Janeiro. He began his acting career at the early age of 7 in Brazil. A student of journalism, Pedro originally came to the United States on a Poetry scholarship.[3] He lives in the West Village in New York City. Pedro was discovered by famed fashion photographer Mario Testino[4] and traveled the world modeling for the likes of Giorgio Armani before joining LXTV (NBC's lifestyle network) in '06. He received notoriety from being a host inside television in New York Taxis.[4] He gained national attention for dating performer Lance Bass.[5][6][7] Besides hosting LXTV 1st Look TV, he has a show on LXTV.com called On The Rocks: The Search for America's Top Bartender.

In Brazilian TV he participates, as a journalist, of the Manhattan Connection show in the Globo News, channel of the Globosat.

Through volunteer work, donations and special appearances, Pedro supports a number of humanitarian causes such as Cancer Research, AIDS Research, Environmental Preservation, as well as a number of children's charities such as the Make a Wish Foundation and Big Brother. In 2007, he and his dog, Miles, appear alongside the likes of Oprah Winfrey, Gisele Bundchen & Kelly Ripa in Pose For Paws, a coffee table book by famed photographer Brian Nice benefiting the Humane Society.[8]
